SHORELINES NEW SINGLE AND EP ANNOUNCED

Brisbane has unearthed a promising and exciting new band that is set to change the way pop-punk is delivered, featuring dual vocalists and armed with a fierce new EP due for release in May. Introducing Shorelines – a four-piece that heralds from Brisbane and formed in the wake of the demise of pop-punks finest former risers, Call The Shots and Rum, Forest, Rum.

Shorelines, featuring Harry White (Lead vocals and bass guitar) and Dylan Thompson (Lead vocals and rhythm guitar) – former members of Call The Shots – and Sean Fisher (Lead guitar) and Shaman Grayson (Drums) – former members of Rum, Forest Rum, start a new chapter in Brisbane’s music scene and hope to quickly pave their way to the forefront of their genre.

With influences including All Time Low, State Champs, Neck Deep and The Story So Far, the band are set to debut their brand new EP titled “New Heights” on Friday May 26 2017. The band’s single of the same name will premiere on Thursday May 11 with the release of their first ever music video shot in Brisbane.

The single “New Heights” is a song about one chapter closing and the start of new beginnings. A fitting song for a band well in its youth. “I wrote this song about my old band breaking up and having to start again with Shorelines,” says Harry. “New Heights definitely shows off our positivity towards the new band, but also displays some anger towards people that brought us down in the past.”

The “New Heights” EP sets the bar high for their future releases and throws them straight into the depths of the pop/punk scene. With catchy melodies, relatable lyrics and elaborate instrumentals, this release proves to be something completely unique and exciting for the genre.

The band released a first taste of the EP in January with the release of “Let Us Go” which garnered over 11,000 views and 162 shares which is a mean feat for a band that formed only two months earlier.

After Call The Shots demise in May 2016 – a band that toured alongside the likes of With Confidence, You Me At Six, Tonight Alive, Short Stack, The Getaway Plan, The Story So Far, Mest, The Wonder Years, As It Is – Harry and Dylan decided to start writing and jamming together. What started as a jam quickly turned serious when Sean and Shaman, both from Rum, Forest, Rum, were added to the mix forming the four piece lineup they are today.

“The “New Heights” EP was actually written before Sean and Shaman joined us,” says Harry. “Most of it is about our experiences after Call The Shots ended but “New Heights” is aimed at starting again and doing things the right way. “Brighter Day” is a song based on negative feelings and depression, “Let Us Go” is aimed at confusingly difficult times in relationships, and “Back Home” covers long distance relationships whether it be between a couple or family members”.
