Singles Chartifacts:
#1: Dean Lewis ‘Be Alright’ – Dean Lewis notches up his third consecutive week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Be Alright’. The track has started to make inroads on a number of charts around the world, including in New Zealand, the UK and Ireland.
#6: George Ezra ‘Shotgun’ – A week on from cracking the Top Ten, George Ezra’s ‘Shotgun’ moves up a further three spots to claim a new peak at #6. The single is one spot below Ezra’s all-time chart peak, achieved with ‘Budapest’ (#5 Aug. ’14).
#14: Calvin Harris & Sam Smith ‘Promises’ – In its second week on the chart, Calvin Harris and Sam Smith’s collaboration ‘Promises’ jumps 16 spots to #14. The track is Harris’ second chart entry for the year, following the Dua Lipa collaboration ‘One Kiss’ (#3 Jun. ’18). Smith was last in the Top 50 with ‘Pray’ (#41 Nov. ’17).
#18: Bazzi ‘Beautiful’ – Three weeks into its chart run, Bazzi’s ‘Beautiful’ moves up four to score a peak at #18. The American singer peaked at #11 in March with ‘Mine’.
#21: The Rubens Feat. Sarah ‘Never Ever’ – The Rubens’ ‘Never Ever’ continues its steady climb up the chart, moving up three spots this week to hit a new peak at #21.

Albums Chartifacts:
#1: The Amity Affliction ‘Misery’ (Debut) – Queensland metalcore band The Amity Affliction score their fourth #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Misery. The group’s sixth studio release is the follow-up to This Could Be Heartbreak (#1 Aug. ’16). They’ve previously topped the ARIA Charts with Let The Ocean Take Me (#1 Jun. ’14) and Chasing Ghosts (#1 Sept. ’12). The Amity Affliction become the first Australian band to have four consecutive releases hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Misery is the eighth Australian #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2018 after Amy Shark’s Love Monster, 5 Seconds Of Summer’s Youngblood, Sheppard’s Watching The Sky, Parkway Drive’s Reverence, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu’s Djarimirri (Child Of The Rainbow), Kylie Minogue’s Golden and Vance Joy’s Nation Of Two.
#9: BTS ‘Love Yourself 結 ‘Answer’’ (Debut) – K-pop group BTS take out a third Top Ten entry on the ARIA Albums Chart with Love Yourself 結 ‘Answer’. The compilation brings together tracks from Love Yourself: 承 ‘Her’ (#8 Sept. ’17) and Love Yourself: 轉 ‘Tear’ (#6 May ’18), as well as seven newly record tracks. One of the new songs, ‘Idol’, has debuted at #35 on this week’s Singles Chart.
#13: John Williamson ‘Butcherbird’ (Debut) – ARIA Hall Of Fame member John Williamson releases his 20th studio album, Butcherbird. The album is Williamson’s first album of originals since Honest People (#11 Aug. ’14). In between he has charted with Looking For A Story (#32 May ’16) and His Favourite Collection (#9 Sept.’16).
#15: Alice In Chains ‘Rainier Fog’ (Debut) – Hard rock veterans Alice In Chains release their first album in five years, Rainier Fog. The band’s sixth studio album is the third released with lead vocalist William DuVall after Black Gives Way To Blue (#12 Oct. ’09) and The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here (#10 Jun. ’13).
#21: Neil & Liam Finn ‘Lightsleeper’ (Debut) – Father and son Neil and Liam Finn release their first collaborative album, Lightsleeper. The release features contributions from Finn family members Sharon, Elroy and Harper, as well as Neil Finn’s new Fleetwood Mac bandmate Mick Fleetwood. It’s Neil Finn’s first release since Out Of Silence (#9 Sept. ’17) and Liam’s first since 2014’s The Nihilist.
