Award-winning singer songwriter Angus Gill returns on September 20 with his new album ‘Welcome To My Heart’, following the release today of an exclusive new podcast called ‘Origins’ that you can listen to here.

To tell the story behind the album, the ‘Origins’ podcast is a four-part series that continues the theme of family and home that forms the basis of the album. It also sees Angus back behind the microphone as an interviewer, a skill he learnt as a presenter on 2WAY FM 103.9 in Wauchope at the age of 14.

The ‘Origins’ podcast will feature a special guest each episode, exploring the genesis, catalyst, and origins of their story, flicking through the pages of the past and seeing how their origins have made them the person they are today.

Angus said, “There has been many hours of blood, sweat and tears that have gone into this album, but it’s best described as the simple honest truth. I’ve been digging deep, looking at where I’ve come from and how it has influenced my journey till now. Sonically I’ve expanded my musical palette by incorporating world music and folk music influences into my traditional country sound. It’s added a level of uniqueness and freshness to the record, I’ve always tried to make music that shows my distinctive and authentic self.”

‘Welcome To My Heart’ is the second album from Angus and includes a duet with country music legend James Blundell called ‘Doesn’t Mean I Don’t Believe’, as well as the song ‘Don’t Care How Long It Takes’ co-written with industry icon Graeme Connors.

A talented producer, Angus also produced the album himself, calling in industry stalwart and multi-instrumentalist Matt Fell to work with him co-producing a couple of songs.
