Thursday 10 October, Sydney. Today HEAPS GAY has announced the return of their street festival after sellout years in 2017/18. Taking a break in 2019 due to the original location of the festival being claimed by Westconnex, Sydney’s best LGBTQ+ party starters are back with ROADWERK FESTIVAL in a bigger industrial location in the Inner West and new addition Newcastle. Bringing a multi-faceted program of live music, performance, art installation and DJs including international selectors, ROADWERK will be heading to Marrickville on January 18th and a TBC location in Newcastle on January 25th.
Embracing summer festivities and the rich pool of talent these cities have to offer, ROADWERK 2020 will put a focus on local NSW talent along with a broad range of Australian and international music selections. ROADWERKS full live music and arts lineup will be revealed on October 30th following an all welcome launch party at LGBTQ+ community hub The Bearded Tit on the 29th. Sitting between Sydenham station and community institutions such as the Red Rattler Theatre and Marrickville Bowling Club, the location of ROADWERK in 2020 is a quiet little industrial corner just around the bend from the previous location.
