.

.

schoolboy q

.

Although ScHoolboy Q has only been rapping since 2007, his bluntly charismatic presence on wax should’ve already put him on your radar as one of rap’s emerging voices. Hot off the back of his 2016 second major-label album Blank Face LP, ScHoolboy Q brings cutting-edge of hip-hop this year’s BTV bill.

.

.

Multi- instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Matt Corby made his big jump into the stratosphere of Australian music with the release of his 2011 EP Into The Flame, spawning the mega singles “Brother” and “Resolution”. This release of his debut album Tulleric in 2016 sealed the deal landing the coveted number 1 spot on the nation’s album charts proving that the country had indeed fallen under the spell of this great Australian talent.

.

meg mac

.

After being named triple J Unearthed Artist of the year in 2014, Meg Mac has since inspired glowing praise from all corners the globe with her golden, soul inspired voice and assured songwriting talent. After a string of well-received, and much played radio singles, the stakes have well and truly been raised with her debut album Low Blows dropping to resounding universal acclaim.

.

.

the presets

.

No name looms larger on the Australian electronic music scene than The Presets. Since 2003 the synth obsessed duo have achieved just about all there is to achieve in this country, winning multiple (7!) ARIA Awards, being awarded APRA Songwriters Of The Year, number 1 album spots, gold and platinum sales and tours with the likes of Daft Punk, but above all they have delivered an indelible canon of music that has become part of the nation’s dance music fabric.

.

stormzy

.

UK Grime king Stormzy is one of the most hyped MC’s of the past decade, and deservedly so. After launching himself into the general consciousness of the British grime scene via a series of YouTube freestyle videos in 2013, everything he has touched since has turned to pure solid gold. From his 2014 debut EP Dreamers Disease through to his latest grime gospel opus Gang Signs and Prayer, the 24-year-old has taken on all-comers and in the process won a global fanbase.

.

.

When it comes to 21-year-olds, Channel Islands born producer, multi-instrumentalist and self-proclaimed beat slayer Mura Masa is a high achiever, to say the least. After cutting his teeth in live punk, hardcore and deathcore bands, he discovered the world of beat making as a 16-year-old, taking formative steps in trap production. Dropping the track “Lovesick” in 2015, Mura Masa fast became a worldwide sensation.

.

little dragon

.

Yukimi Nagano, Erik Bodin, Fred Wallin and Håkan Wirenstrand make up Gothenburg’s Little Dragon, the zeitgeist band that blend strands of R&B, electronic and indie into beautifully and meaningfully crafted songs. Having steadily grown from being the biggest underground secrets to resounding international acclaim, their energetic live set and unique recording process has made fans out of some of the biggest names in music.
