New boutique Victorian contemporary music festival Bendigo Autumn Music (BAM) is calling all artists to apply to the new music festival, with a promise to program 30% local artists.
Renowned for their diverse and interesting programming, Red Square Music have already received nearly 150 applications in under a month of announcing BAM.
With only four weeks left to go before artist applications close on Sunday 30 September 5pm, festival organisers want to give unsigned and emerging artists the opportunity to play alongside international and national touring acts.
Local musicians are going to have an advantage as the festival aims to shine a light on the culture, arts and heritage of the City of Greater Bendigo and its surrounds.
From the team that has delivered the highly successful boutique Bello Winter Music and Mullumbimby Music Festivals in New South Wales, comes an exciting new addition to the Victorian music festival calendar, BAM will take place over four days in the heart of Bendigo the weekend after Easter, Thursday 25 April – Sunday 28 April 2019.
In regards to how an artist is defined as local, Festival Director Glenn Wright says, “The closer to Bendigo the better; if you grew up in Bendigo that’s great – we’ll consider any local connections, but generally speaking those within a 100km radius of Bendigo will be considered!”
The boutique family-friendly contemporary arts and music festival will showcase a diverse range of contemporary music including world music, roots, folk, blues, jazz, Americana, reggae, funk, r&b, soul, indie-rock and alternative genres, music will be heard across Bendigo’s streets over four jam-packed days next Autumn.
With the first line-up to be announced in conjunction with the full range of ticketing options, BAM promises to deliver something for everyone, with tickets ranging from full weekend passes to day passes which will allow punters access to all festival venues and events.
Sign up now to the BAM newsletter via the website to hear about the line-up first. Artist applications close on Sunday 30 September 5pm.
