Denzel Curry is back to share a new single. ‘Percs’ follows Denzel’s recently released ‘Sumo’, and finds Denzel at his best: rattling off machine gun paced flows over heavy production. Denzel recently paid NYC’s Hot 97 and Complex visits to discuss new music, mental health, the state of rap music, and more. In 2018 Denzel has been teasing fans on his forthcoming album TA13OO which will serve as the follow up to Denzel’s EP 13, released almost a year ago. The new project is due soon.
Born and raised in South Florida, Denzel Curry first started making waves underground with a string of mixtape releases and his affiliation with Raider Klan. Following the group’s dissolution, Curry set out on his own with the release of his debut album Nostalgic 64 which contained features from Lil Ugly Mane, Mike G, Robb Bank$, and others. In 2015 he released a double EP titled 32 Zel/Planet Shrooms, which spawned the RIAA certified gold single ‘Ultimate’ The following year Denzel released his second album Imperial.
Curry employs an aggressive flow that couples elements from both hip hop and hardcore, and his sound would lay the groundwork for an underground scene in Florida that is just now starting to break into the mainstream.
