Norway’s revelation girl in red is proving to be one of the most exciting emerging acts in Europe at the moment. Explaining the song’s narrative, girl in red says of dead girl in the pool (which also comes with a video that explains all); “i started working on this song last summer. i had just had a conversation about perspectives and different narratives that sparked some ideas. then suddenly i had the line “there’s a dead girl in the pool” and this little music video of the morning after a party playing in my head. it’s kind of about feelings of anxiety and questioning your identity, and the video will hopefully show that!”

In 2017, girl in red found herself catapulted to the status of teenage LGBTQ+ icon when her track i wanna be your girlfriend went viral, winning her a devoted fanbase that’s grown at a staggering pace over the last eighteen months. Last year girl in red released her debut EP titled chapter 1, a collection of songs penned in her bedroom, that went on to garner support of a wild hoard of tastemaker praise.
