Norway’s young revelation girl in red has just released her ‘chapter 2’ EP, which includes the brand new single, bad idea! Watch the official video HERE.

Just last month, girl in red announced that she will be heading to Australia for the first time in October. She is set to perform at Spotify’s Front Left Live playlist event in Melbourne where she will perform alongside Tove Lo (SE), Tones And I (AU) and BENEE (NZ) and has also added Sydney performance and will take over The Lansdowne Hotel on Tuesday 8 October (Tickets on sale now HERE).

bad idea! which received a global premiere on Australian airwaves via triple j’s Good Nights is all about leaving logic at the door and going with your impulses. girl in red explains how the song came to be;

“i got the idea for the song after being on and off with a girl. i found myself going back to her repeatedly even tho i knew i shouldn’t have. for me bad idea is about wanting something very intensely and going for it without thinking about the consequences”

Of the video she declares, “when i write music i see short film scenes in my head while writing bad idea i saw lots of red colours and dark bedroom scenes so i knew what i wanted it to look like fairly quick. i worked with my friend isak jenssen on the video cause he always understands what i want. he has helped me so much. the video shows what the song is about. going for something or someone out of pure instincts and lust because it’s what you want, and not necessarily what’s best for you.”

From the four walls of her bedroom to global acclaim, girl in red has become something of a queer icon for fans around the world and has quickly proven herself as a young talent on the rise.

Born Marie Ulven, the twenty-year-old’s story began in her bedroom, where she writes, records and produces all of her lo-fi pop jams. Her debut EP, chapter 1, has demanded global attention since its 2018 release with stand out singles ‘i wanna be your girlfriend’ and ‘summer depression’ attracting a passionate and ever-growing online fanbase.

girl in red has only just wrapped up her recent sold-out world tour and she has just announced another string of headline tour dates across the US, the UK and Europe for the second half of 2019.
