Groovin the Moo Sells Out Nationally + 1st Weekend Wrap Up

As the sun disappeared over Townsville yesterday afternoon, so did the last remaining tickets, resulting in the first ever national sell out of Groovin the Moo. The festival has wrapped up its first weekend with three back to back shows, in Wayville (SA), Maitland (NSW) and Townsville (QLD).

Steven Halpin of Cattleyard Promotions said;
“We’re both humbled and incredibly proud to host so many music loving patrons across the country and would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank every one of you for joining us at GTM 2017.”

Some fun facts from our first three shows;

  • 350: Kilograms of lollies handed out by Red Frogs to satisfy sugar cravings
  • 1: Brave young lad, who proposed to his long-term girlfriend during Thundamentals set at Wayville (she said yes!)
  • 3: Mid-set handstands executed by Justin Hawkins of The Darkness
  • 5: Giant moths on stilts roaming about Wavyille
  • 1200: Guestimate number of wristbands repurposed into an amazing cape by the equally amazing eco-conscious Montaigne
  • 72: Dunny roles thrown out to the crowd by Violent Soho during set

You can see the all the action in our highlights videos from Wayville, Maitland and Townsville.

GTM continues next weekend with Bendigo and Canberra on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May, respectively, then the festival will round out the tour in Bunbury on Saturday 13 May.
