With much excitement, James will perform ‘You Deserve Better’ this Sunday night on The Voice Australia as a worldwide television premiere.
‘You Deserve Better’ is an up-tempo future smash, featuring a soulful groove, funk guitars and James’ trademark stunning vocals and harmonies. The track, written by James alongside superstar songwriters Camille Purcell and TMS, sees James tell a love they are better off without him.
Showing another side of James, ‘At My Weakest’ is a beautiful gospel-tinged ballad that is sure to appeal to his ever growing army of fans worldwide.
James’ previous single ‘Naked’ –released late last year – became an absolute hit and is certified GOLD in Australia. It has been streamed an impressive 100 million times worldwide and the video features model/actress Cressida Bonas and has garnered 85 million views to date.
The last two years have been remarkable for James. Since being released in September 2016, comeback single ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ has sold more than 9.6 million copies worldwide and secured nearly 2 billion combined streams. The single spent three weeks at #1 in the UK and went to #1 on US radio. In addition, James’ album BACK FROM THE EDGE released in October 2016, went straight to #1 in the UK charts and has gone multi-Platinum worldwide. James was also nominated for two BRIT Awards and an American Music Award for Best New Artist.
On our local shores alone, ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ was a huge 8 x Platinum smash and the track peaked at #1 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart and stayed there for 6 consecutive weeks. Deservingly, ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ became the #1 ARIA single for 7 weeks, and the track has amassed over 54m streams in Australia alone. Additionally, James’ previous album, BACK FROM THE EDGE reached #1 on the iTunes chart, and #8 on the ARIA chart.
2017 saw James embark on a 42-date arena tour with OneRepublic across the USA, as well as a sold out 11-date UK arena tour. Since then, James has continued to work on his new album with leading lights such as Ryan Tedder, Justin Tranter, and Max Martin.
