For the third year running, Kings Cross Hotel team up with Vivid Music, to celebrate live entertainment in Sydney over three Saturday evenings in May and June. From May 25, witness a three-part event series curated by crews like Heaps Decent and Clipp. Art, featuring Sydney’s favourite established and emerging, local and international artists.
KXH x Vivid Music’s opening weekend on Saturday, May 25 launches with a celebration of killer all-female talent. From King Cross Hotel’s iconic rooftop, Nina Las Vegas – one of Australia’s leading producers, tastemakers and the NLV Records label boss – joins as headliner, alongside Isa, Tyoow and Caitlin Medcalf, who are each making incredible waves in Sydney’s music scene and beyond.
The following weekend on Saturday, June 1, multidisciplinary crew and label Clipp Art sit at the curation helm. They bring headliners, UK electronic duo FYI Chris downunder for the first time ever at KXH x Vivid Music part two. Responsible for some of the finest underground dance releases across the last five years, FYI Chris will keep you on the dance floor until the early hours. Backing them up is a stellar local lineup, featuring Jerk Boy, Sophie Forest, Pinz and Pelz, Donald Leicester, with more to be announced.
The final slice of KXH x Vivid Music on Saturday, June 8 is a collaboration between Heaps Decent and Shantan Wantan Ichiban. Heaps Decent is an Australian-based arts organisation working with young people and emerging artists from diverse communities, while Shantan is a well-loved radio presenter and one of Australia’s finest DJs. Together, they each curate a level of KXH championing hip hop, dancehall, RnB and afrobeat, for what is sure to be an incredible night of talent with soon-to-be-revealed artists.
Last year, KXH x Vivid Music presented a one-night, five level celebration of music. Hosted by three of Sydney’s greatest party crews – Picnic, Bad Deep & Kato and friends – who each curated an entire level with their unique sound & flavour, the night brought together a diverse line-up of incredible acts from Sydney & Melbourne, and included visual installations from local artists.
This year, KXH x Vivid Music is continuing the momentum across three consecutive Saturdays filled with exciting acts from Sydney & beyond.
