- “Leah Senior is an amazing folk singer, very, very talented, and nothing like King Gizz’s music at all. Her songs are equally terrifying, joyous, sad and exciting. We get chills watching her perform” – KING GIZZARD
- “Leah Senior is a remarkable songwriter, reminds me of Vashti Bunyan and sings like a bird” – GABRIELLA COHEN
- “Recalling Joni Mitchell playfulness through cozy, folk minimalism, Senior’s delicate vocal lilt and finger-plucking acoustic drives the song’s heart, while lyrics unwrap the concept of the definition of traditional beauty: I like shadows under eyes, crooked teeth and worn-down smiles, legs not built for running miles. Pretty faces, you’ve got a lot to live for“ – ROLLING STONE AUSTRALIA

Leah Senior’s second album Pretty Faces pays homage to her dark folk roots while hinting at layers of pop and psychedelic undertones. The blinds are drawn and the songs are covered in a fine layer of dust; yet there is sunlight peaking through the gaps, a silver lining to a dusky tone and a sense of humour behind the tragedy.
On the first single and title track, “Pretty Faces”, Leah Senior sings of the idea that beauty is fluid; that we are not bound to our features. It’s an enticing introduction to an album which explores deeply the possibility of the personal liberation that may come from loss, and the breaking of expectations — those we’ve imposed on ourselves, or imposed on us by others.
The songs are sparsely arranged, Leah Senior’s finger picking providing a stark canvas for her unusual lyrical wit. Leah Senior’s luminous folk forms are complemented with old-world piano and guitar (Jesse Williams) and dulcet sibling harmonies (Andi Senior).
A chance late night meeting with King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard led to Leah Senior joining their independent label Flightless, releasing her first album Summer’s On The Ground to much critical acclaim in 2015.
Pretty Faces will sit proudly in the Flightless roster of 2017, alongside releases by King Gizzard,The Murlocs and ORB. Leah’s distinctive voice also features on King Gizzard’s forthcoming release Murder of The Universe, as the omnipresent female consciousness who narrates the album.
Pretty Faces was recorded and produced with King Gizzard’s own Joey Walker, and features Jesse Williams (keyboard/ electric guitar), Andi Senior (vocals), Joe Walker (therovox), Michael Cavanagh (drums), Alex Bleakly (bass) and Vince Ward (cello).
The album was mixed by renowned Melbourne engineer/producer Nick Huggins, and mastered by Joseph Carra at Crystal Mastering.
