Hot on the heels of the announce of their upcoming SARAWAK EP and accompanying national tour where they will be headlining their biggest venues to date, today SLUMBERJACK reveal the second track from the EP, a collaboration with TroyBoi called ‘Solid’.
Started when the duo were on tour with TroyBoi across the US, ‘Solid’ is a blistering instrumental trap track with explosive drops and staccato beats.
SLUMBERJACK says of the track: “We’re going back to our SLUMBERJACK roots for Solid. We really took this track on a trip around the world, starting it in the USA on the cramped conditions of the tour bus and finishing it in China. Working with TroyBoireminded us of the fun of keeping it simple and bouncy.”
‘Solid’ follows previous single ‘Daggers’ – their emotionally-rich, raw collaboration with Machine Age – which will also be found on the forthcoming SARAWAK EP, due to be released early next year via OneLove.
The EP was conceived and produced when the duo sought a respite from the relentless touring cycle they had found themselves in and retreated to the natural beauty of Morgan’s homeland of Sarawak in Borneo.
The duo captured their experience in Sarawak and have released the second episode in the series documenting their journey. Episode 2: Morgan’s Painful New Tattoo.
In 2017 SLUMBERJACK released the #1 iTunes charting Fracture EP which resulted in high rotation singles ‘Fracture’ ft. Vera Blue (ARIA Gold certified) and ‘Afraid, Unafraid’ ft. Sydnee Carter as well as a sold-out national tour. Over the past two years the duo have also taken their live show on a national run with Falls Festival and Groovin’ the Moo, a third year straight at Splendour in the Grass, as well as Big Pineapple and Touch Bass festivals. In the US they supported TroyBoi and Ekali on their respective US tours, played EDC Las Vegas, Holy Ship and more. In addition to the upcoming national tour they have also been announced on the line up for Mountain Sounds Festival in February 2019.
