Having just returned home from a US tour with Born Of Osiris and label mates Volumes, the band show no signs of slowing with Slam Dunk Festival, the Fearless Invasion London showcase, a headline run and Tech Fest dates ahead of them. The band then head to Europe for more festivals and a run with August Burns Red.

Technical metal wizards Oceans Ate Alaska are notorious for amalgamating many different flavours of modern metal in unique ways. Fusing unpredictable polyrhythms and a sporadic partnering of melodic and dissonant passages, the Birmingham quintet usher a furious energy with creative flair, where sequences of melancholy and vitriol are both at the forefront, boosted by some impressive technical prowess. They have the benefit of experience whilst still being relatively new on the horizon, and have deservedly earned the respect of their co-practitioners in the field.

After the release of their debut full-length Lost Isles, Oceans Ate Alaska were not only pegged as a “Band to Watch” by Metal Hammer, Rock Sound and Revolver Magazine, but also landed on Alternative Press’s “100 Bands You Need To Know” list as well as Kerrang Magazine’s “Fresh Blood”, and on the cover of HM Magazine’s February issue. Oceans Ate Alaska famously covered Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love” that made the hit compilation Punk Goes Pop Vol. 6, and has now notched a very impressive 2.7 million streams on Spotify.

One thing is for certain when watching Oceans Ate Alaska on stage, and that is pure adrenaline-fuelled chaos. Their presence has seen an enormous appreciation from crowds here in the UK but also the other side of the Atlantic. Having previously toured the US with the likes of BlessTheFall, Stick To Your Guns and Northlane, as well as their own successful headline tour, they also complemented a very stacked 2016 Vans Warped Tour.
