The final chapter in a highly-anticipated return for one of the most successful drum and bass bands of all time, Pendulum today share their latest EP, Elemental. Alongside the release is the band’s latest and final EP single, “Louder Than Words”, a collaboration with Hybrid Minds.

Arriving as Pendulum’s first body of work to be released since 2011’s #1 smash hit album Immersion, the EP will also be available on 12” vinyl in the form of a premium phenakistoscope picture disc, which utilises the artwork to create a unique animation when played at 45 rpm and filmed on a mobile phone.

The hit-riddled release heralds the full comeback of the pioneering group, who made their long-awaited return in 2020 with the double A-side singles “Nothing For Free” & “Driver, followed by single “Come Alive earlier this year – all of which will feature on Elemental. Collectively, the singles have accumulated over 20 million streams globally and received praise across Triple J, Double J, NME, Rolling Stone Australia and more.

Capping off the four-track EP is the awe-inspiring sonic triumph of “Louder Than Words”, in collaboration with acclaimed UK duo, Hybrid Minds. Premiered on Apple Radio 1 with Zane Lowe, the track’s expansive orchestral-lined soundscapes meld with classic DnB breakbeats and Rob’s enveloping vocals, forming another standout Pendulum anthem that cannot be overlooked.   Ed Bulmer, “Louder Than Words” also pairs with a cartoon-meets-real-life cinematography video featuring animated characters co-created by Pendulum themselves. It tells the story of a cat called Bob and a Rat called Gary, former friends and colleagues from the golden era of animation. Since their professional split, Gary’s career has gone from strength to strength whilst Bob has slid into a world of drink, depression and jealousy.

Of the EP and new single, Pendulum say: “It’s good to be back with our Elemental EP, and the new single ‘Louder Than Words’ with Hybrid Minds. We’ve been working on the EP for a while over lockdown so it’s great everything is finally out, and we hope to be playing the new music out at shows very soon.”

And Hybrid Minds say: “Neither of us knew how the track should sound until we had done it. It manages to represent our musicality and emotion whilst capturing that classic Pendulum vibe and Rob’s voice is the icing on the cake. It’s so exciting to work with people who are so different to ourselves because it makes for something a lot more interesting. Pendulum haven’t done many collabs so it’s such a moment for us to have made a track with them and to see it get released.”

Reaching complete global domination, with three platinum albums in Hold Your Colour, In Silico (UK #2) and Immersion (UK #1), huge fan-loved singles including “Propane Nightmares”, “Watercolour”, “Witchcraft”, “The Island” and more, the Perth-native drum and bass / rock band have sold over 20 million albums to date, in the UK alone. Both as a live band and DJ outfit Trinity, Pendulum have also headlined some of the biggest venues and festival stages across the globe – including recently performing a one-off, historic show at Spitbank Fort, a centuries-old sea fort in the Solent, near Portsmouth. Led by founding members Rob Swire & Gareth McGrillen, they have sold out global arena tours and played to thousands across main stage performances including Glastonbury, Download to Reading and Leeds and a headline slot at Ultra Miami.

Now, they prepare to reignite the spark with their first collection after a 10-year hiatus.
