AYLA is out here kicking goals. The artist has been on rotation on Triple J and has taken to starting her own music festival with Spring In The Vale. Now she’s back with her new release the vulnerable “Should’ve Been Fine”, a song that implores us to live our lives with unabashed passion.

AYLA’s “Should’ve Been Fine” is a foray into the pulsating realms of pop and electronic dance music. The songwriting is a compelling narrative about the heartache of wondering about the ‘what ifs’ in life. At the same time she threads through the complexities of love, weaving a tale of emotional resilience and the fragility of the special relationships in our lives. It strikes a balance between vulnerability and empowerment, providing a refreshing take on the often-charted territory of what is ultimately a heartbreak anthem that pivots to a song of bittersweet acceptance. The song’s inspiration came from AYLA falling for her best friend but due to life’s roadblocks, it was a relationship that couldn’t flourish into something romantic. AYLA even sings forlornly, “Some stupid little things did line up”.
The production is a vibrant mix of electronic textures and beats, a testament to AYLA’s prowess in navigating the sonic landscape. The arrangement skilfully builds anticipation and drama creating an immersive experience.

Instrumentally, the track is an electro-pop concoction, blending synthetic elements with a heartbeat-like rhythm.
