On the heels of her Australian shows last week at Dark Mofo and Vivid Sydney, St. Vincent releases the euphoric music video for ‘Fast Slow Disco’. Directed by Zev Deans and produced by Wes Hager, the visually stuinning clip sees Annie Clark joyously sweat it out the dancefloor on a New York gay club.
‘Fast Slow Disco’ is an upbeat rework of MASSEDUCTION album track ‘Slow Disco’, produced by Annie Clark and Jack Antonoff.
“I always felt this song could wear many different outfits and live many different lives,” says Clark of the track. “Here she is in disco pants, sweating on a New York dance floor.“

St. Vincent brought her spectacular live theatre show to Australia last week, where she performed at Dark Mofo in Hobart and headlined Carriagework’s Vivid lineup in Sydney. A resounding success, the shows were dubbed “powerful” by the likes of Time Out and rated 4 out of 5 stars by The Sydney Morning Herald who highlighted how “Clark could be as powerful or tender as the moment demanded.” Vice also praised her Dark Mofo performance, writing “St. Vincent’s Dark Mofo show cast ‘Masseduction’ in a new light, bringing clarity to themes she’s been exploring for her entire career.”
On the week of its release, ‘Fast Slow Disco’ gained over 750,000 streams, scored wide playlisting including Spotify’s New Music Friday in 28 countries and Best Of Week in Main and Alternative genres on Apple Music. St. Vincent also performed the track on Later…with Jools Holland [WATCH HERE].

PRAISE FOR ‘MASSEDUCTION’
“This is St Vincent at her very best.” (Album of the Week) – ★★★★½ The Music
“Masseduction is accessible, but in a distinctly St. Vincent way […] her biggest album yet” – i-D AUNZ
“13 examples of interior corruption, Masseduction has energy and coiled power aplenty – and some more of not just Clark’s great guitar playing but her ability to shape new sounds” – Bernard Zuel
“…Weaving rock, sex, and pop into catchy shapes… writing a record about love, and risking being labelled “insane” in an industry that feeds off patriarchal norms, Annie Clark is changing the goddamn world.” – The BRAG
“St. Vincent writes her most together album without falling apart” – ★★★★ Rolling Stone Australia
“’MASSEDUCTION’ is the best thing she’s ever done and there are no bad St. Vincent records.” – Buzzfeed
“Pop is a vehicle, a form, a challenge, a temptation and an adversary for St. Vincent on ‘MASSEDUCTION.’ Its crisp, catchy but still idiosyncratic songs ponder, among other things, what to make of fame and success.” – The New York Times
“A genuine masterpiece” 9/10 – Drowned In Sound
