As HIPPO CAMPUS’ debut Australian tour approaches, Handsome Tours are stoked to announce that Woollongong four piece THE VANNS are set to join them on all shows this March.
Just off a sold out, all ages, East Coast tour of Australia, THE VANNS are ready to hit the road again armed with tracks from their forthcoming debut album.
Formed back in 2013 while they were still at school, THE VANNS started as a party band but soon morphed into something more.
“We were just good mates that had fun hanging out, getting pissed and talking shit but when people started making T shirts for us and booking us to play shows realized there was something more to this.”
With three EPs and a bunch of killer singles like ‘Skinny Legs’, ‘Sunday to Sunday’ and 2018’s ‘How Was I Supposed To Know’ now behind them THE VANNS have shared the stage with KINGSWOOD, THE GRISWOLDS, THE DELTA RIGGS, TIRED LION and more. They’ve also played to crowds at Party In The Paddock, Yours and Owls and more
Sydney fans should arrive early to catch the opening set by local band GEORGIA JUNE, described by Tone Deaf as
“Delivered in a punked-up manner, resembling the likes of Joan Jett and Blondie, with an affable style of storytelling, reminiscent of bands such as the Talking Heads.”
Minnesota natives, HIPPO CAMPUS’s inaugural Australian visit will see them hit the road to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with sophomore LP ‘Bambi’. Cruisy vocals, delicate guitar lines, skittering beats and shimmering synth make up their signature and inventive sound.
With slots at some of the most revered festivals including, Lollapalooza, Reading and Bonnaroo to their name, be sure to experience the frenetic yet fragile beauty of HIPPO CAMPUS on their very first Australian tour in March 2019.
