Coming in hot to its third year following two sold out spectacles, THIS THAT has cemented itself as a leader in cutting edge festival concepts, style and swagger. It’s not a fussy festival. It’s a damn good time. Today the team unleash its most stacked lineup to date. Opening up summer from a brand new home at Wickham Park, the hottest event on the Newcastle calendar delivers a handpicked mix of ‘now’ and ‘it’ acts from Australia and overseas.

Canadian powerhouse Zeds Dead lead the charge with a new debut album in tow and are joined by a huge cavalry of homegrown Aussie talent. After hinting at a new music in the works, The Presets make their valiant return to the festival stage and DJ expat extraordinaire Alison Wonderland travels back home to Australian shores for a mammoth closing set at the festival. Guitars and electric ladies are celebrated with an appearance by party starters The Preatures, plus celebrating her international breakout year Tash Sultana brings her famed multi-instrumentalist finesse to THIS THAT in her final festival appearance announced for the year.

Hip-hop stalwarts Thundamentals bring their high-energy Aussie twang to Newcastle. Walking banger factories Carmada, Motez, Paces, Elk Road and Luude are sure to get crowds pumping while Crooked Colours and Winston Surfshirt serve up some slinky beats. Also flying in from out of town is NZ born, UK based trap producer Hucci who rounds off the international contingent.

Classy eats mix with classy beats and next level festival cuisine is THIS THAT‘s signature dish. Food trucks boasting almost every cuisine are back and in 2017 and say ‘Konichiwa’ to a world of Japanese street food when ‘Fresh from the Yatai’ (street cart) hits Wickham Park. Creating a one-of-a-kind enclave just like Japan’s famous Fukuoka, there won’t be a dodgy dagwood dog in sight. Instead, try delicious miso ramen and watch street chefs work their okonomiyaki magic. Craving kimchi? Gunning for gyoza? Udon urges? THIS THAT delivers. Paired with curated cocktails, small batch breweries and whimsical wineries, and THIS THAT is firing on all fronts.

Of course, it wouldn’t be THIS THAT without THE OTHER – another world full of spectacle and a place to get delightfully lost. Enter the portal and be pampered, painted all over to transform into your wildest alter ego bathed in glitter. THE OTHER is the ultimate uber chill zone, a tech savvy sensory surrounding space to chill…..or thrill, hosting the countries best up and coming producers. The masterminds behind this La La Land for the legendary deliver an incredible addition this year, The Imaginarium. An immersive journey through sight and sound…part dance party, part art gallery, part cinema, The Imaginarium combines Ribongia’s energetic live instrumentation and musical prowess with EGO’s surreal production and audio-visual performance. The Imaginarium creates an adventure unparalleled in this universe or the next. The new AV project debuted at Tasmania’s Faux Mo, Mona Foma earlier this year and Newcastle is the second ever location to be wowed by its wonder. Newcastle’s famous Hunt & Gather markets are also back again as are plenty more surprises.

Extremely handy for punters, the new site is also only 300 metres from the Newcastle transport interchange. The party starts November 4 at Wickham Park with a THIS THAT members presale from 9:00am AEST, Thursday August 3. General public on sale is 9am local time Monday August 7
