Trophy Eyes may have only just released their massively anticipated new album, The American Dream (out now via Hopeless Records/UNIFIED), but they are itching to head out on their biggest headline tour to date this October. Joining Trophy Eyes on their next headline jaunt across Australia will be Dear Seattle, Maddy Jane and STUMPS.

The American Dream – the third album in the Trophy Eyes collection – is based on the idea that there’s still utopia left on this planet – a place where one can start again and live a peaceful life, forsaking the trail of destruction that threaten to derail it all. The album also serves as a coming of age fable, in which lead vocalist John Floreani takes an introspective look at who he is today.

Since its release The American Dream has been tugging at heartstrings and leaving critics awestruck around the globe, landing triple j’s Feature Album last week and backed with a plethora of perfect scores, most notably a 5/5 from NME who compared it to a Tom Waits or Nick Cave record. Currently Kerrang!’s album of the week, the magazine says:
