The Electric Polar Bears (EPG) were born out of the love in combining detailed stage production with funky, fresh, bouncy house beats. Headquartered in their Antarctica laboratory, Polar Bears Zero and Snowball have amassed everything you might need to throw the ultimate dance party. From their giant custom 2000 LED heads to confetti cannons, lasers, frost machines and even their own penguin brigade, no festival experience is complete without the Polar Bears running the “snow.” The duo ended 2021 strong by releasing singles with Paris Hilton, TyDi, and TheReadSet. They also have hit the radio airwaves with tracks “Simple Things” and “You Never Know.”

By combining forces with their DJ and promoter friends, Zero and Snowball have traveled to stages around the world bringing their experience to life for the masses; even bringing their personal touch to Paris Hilton’s Neon Wedding in Fall 2021. With shows throughout the United States and Mexico already completed; the Bears have already kicked off 2022 strong with the plan of bringing the magic of live dance music to audiences around the world.

.

.

How did you two come together as Electric Polar Bears?
Ultra Music Festival 2013 and the rise of big room dance was the first introduction to the culture and music. From there the love of music and the beauty of production captivated us. We wanted to create something unique that could tie in and offer a different look at production from snow machines, confetti guns, lasers and eventually circus performers that we hope to incorporate into our live festival performances. Think of Cirque Du Soleil but make it dance music, penguins, and polar bears.

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
Our sound is high energy, upbeat, and fast moving. We focus on great toplines and catchy hooks while also providing other records that are very club and stage friendly to make someone lose themselves on the dance floor. We really like to keep our music clean, push a positive message and focus on lyrics that evokes human emotion while also allowing the audience to groove.

.

.

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
Swedish House Mafia really set the tone at Ultra in 2013 when we found our moment of inspiration and began to pursue this dream long before we even started during the pandemic. We look back to that set with fond memories, euphoria, and pure inspiration to be a part of the music festival world.

Your new single “Where We Started” has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
“Where We Started” really reaches back to our roots with catchy lyrics and more pop friendly dance music as that’s really been a big part of our sound. At the moment we are moving in a more club friendly direction and this EP will showcase that with the other two records that are to be included on it. Right now we want to make our audience DANCE!

Your EP of the same name will be released soon. What can you tell us about it?
We expected this EP to pay homage to where we have been and where we plan to go. It showcases a lot of the sound that grew us to where we are today and will showcase where we plan to go next. We hope with the other two tracks on the EP that many of our DJ peers will find value including it in their playlists for live sets. We want to give them a tool that can spread our vibe and sound to listeners at events around the world.

Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
We just came off a recent headline in San Diego and are very excited to announce our next show in Santa Barbara next month. We are touring with lasers and additional production to any show or room we play in and we are excited to add that extended element of production quality to venues typically not offering it in their house production system.

.

.

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
We are die hard fans of Dada Life and have always loved the live sets from the project and how they’ve always been a good time for all fans. Polar Bears and Bananas, what could be better?!

What are your long-term aspirations as a music artist and how are you progressing towards them?
We will be the Cirque Du Soleil. All the production equipment is in house with the project and the contacts and connections are there for the performers and tech needed to pull it off. Now it’s just time to focus on the fans, the dancefloors, and building an organic community for what we hope to become.

.

With that in mind, what piece of advice would you give to an artist starting out?
Have fun. If you’re not having fun then why are you doing this?
Don’t lose yourself trying to get discovered. Always be your authentic self.
There is no substitute for consistency

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
Playing in Israel was one of our favorite experiences and just seeing dance music in a completely different culture and their fans and how grateful they were to be there and the passion they had behind dancing and being a part of the Festival.
