Have you always wanted to be a musician? When did you get the song writing bug?
I grew up singing and performing in talent quests which is where my passion for performing grew strong. I started writing at about 16 years of age, I struggled however for many years to find my sound and took years off from songwriting in my 20s. I have only been writing proactively for the past 12 months and have been able to find my sound and identity through this process.

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think fans resonate with your music?
I would best describe my sound as country pop, with influences including Keith Urban, Dan + Shay, Seaforth, Rascal Flatts. My writing is typically cheeky, positive, upbeat music. I think the melodies that I create are catchy and people enjoy the playfulness of my music but also the romantic undertones.

What sets you apart from other bands/artists in your genre?
My strength is my voice and I enjoy injecting a lot of chorus vocals and catchy melodies into my songs, much of what I write will get stuck in your head whether you want it to or not! haha

Your new single ‘Skin To Skin’ has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution. 
As an emerging artist, my plan is to release a single every 3-4 months and after approx. 4 single releases, my plan is to release my debut EP featuring 5 – 6 tracks by the beginning of 2025.
I wrote Skin To Skin with a good mate of mine, Robbie Mortimer, who I had written with frequently throughout 2023.
The lyrics centre around the highs and lows of my relationship with my wife and partner of 14 years and highlights the importance of intimacy in the relationship. My producer Alex Mather was able to rope in Nashville session musicians who work with the best in the industry to track guitars and pedal steel to give the song a polished sound.

Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
I’m really looking forward to playing more shows throughout 2024, I have single launches plan and can’t wait to get out on to the stage with my full band and putting on a killer show! You can catch me at Tumbfest in Tumbarumba on 24th February and ‘A Night In Nashville’ in Orange on 2nd March!

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why? 
Dan + Shay would be amazing! I love their music, I am a big fan but also am very inspired by their melodic phrasings and romantic lyricism.

If you could sum up your band’s philosophy in one sentence, what would it be?
Go out there and make it happen!

With that in mind, what piece of advice would you give to an artist starting out? 
Being an artist starting out, I would say dream big and work hard, and expect rejection, but don’t ever let it deter you from pursuing your dreams. 

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
The mutual appreciation for music and the connection you can make with several hundred to thousands of people instantaneously. Performing my original song at the Schools Spectacular (2011) in front of 10,000 people and having it aired on ABC television.
